Regional Office of Education
The Boone-Winnebago Counties Regional Office of Education acts as an advocate for education by providing positive leadership, performing regulatory functions as directed by the Illinois School Code and the Illinois State Board of Education, coordinating and delivering state and local services and disseminating information for educators, school districts and the community. Our office is dedicated to providing quality services and programs to meet the needs of our districts, administrators and teachers, and ultimately the students in our area.

The Boone-Winnebago Regional Office of Education, area school administrators, members of the League of Women Voters, mental health advocates, and nonprofit and community leaders held a public forum on June 10th to empower Rockford area residents to advocate for a responsible state budget.Non-partisan budget experts presented residents with the latest information on the state budget situation and provided a range of possible solutions to solve the state's budget problems without hurting families and communities. Ralph Martire from the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability explained how the state budget is spent and how it reflects priorities of Northern Illinois families. David Lloyd from the Fiscal Policy Center for Voices for Illinois Children discussed a new report he authored offering a range of revenue solutions Illinois can consider to protect vital programs from further cuts.
