Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announces thatJuan Barradas-Ferral (D.O.B. 11/6/1990)was found guilty of one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and four counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault after a bench trial in front of the Honorable Judge John Lowry.
In March of 2015, Rockford Police were called to CocoKeys Water Park that was located inside the ClockTower Resort off of East State Street. Several patrons reported that they observed the defendant, Juan Barradas-Ferral and a child kissing and touching in a sexually suggestive manner. When questioned, the victim told investigators that she was in a sexual relationship with the defendant for several months prior to the incident at CocoKeys.
Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a special sentence of 6-60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Barradas-Ferral will be back in court again at 9am on February 12th in front of the Honorable Judge Lowry in Courtroom 314.
