Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announces that on March 26th, 2018, Charles M. Tucker (D.O.B. 2/15/1968) was found guilty of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse after a bench trial in front of the Honorable Judge Rosemary Collins.
In July of 2013, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police were made aware of an allegation of sexual abuse by the defendant, Charles Tucker. The investigation revealed Tucker had an inappropriate sexual relationship with an individual who was under the age of 13 at the time. The defendant was an employee at North Love Baptist Church and was 42 years old when the abuse occurred. According to detectives, some of the abuse happened at the church while the defendant was working there.
Tucker was found guilty of four counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child. The charge is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a mandatory sentence of 6-60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years to natural life of Mandatory Supervised Release. The defendant will be required to serve 85% of this sentence as required by state statute.
The defendant was found guilty of nine counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. The charge is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Tucker is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14th, 2018 at 1:30pm by the Honorable Judge Rosemary Collins in Courtroom 478.
