Press Release-David Seaton Trial

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announces that on September 13th, 2017, David D. Seaton D.O.B. 12/11/1963) was found guilty of one count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse after a jury trial in front of the Honorable Judge John Lowry.

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police conducted an investigation into allegations of alleged sexual abuse of two victims who were under the age of 13.  The abuse occurred between February of 2000 and February of 2005.  Mr. Seaton’s wife has owned and operated an at-home daycare called Pam’s Daycare.  

Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years to natural life of Mandatory Supervised Release. The defendant will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life as part of his sentence.

Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release. 

 

Seaton is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30pm on October 31st, 2017 by the Honorable Judge Lowry in Courtroom 314.
