Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announces that on September 28th, 2017, Thawahson S. Wah (D.O.B. 5/21/1985) was found guilty of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and Unlawful Restraint after a jury trial in front of the Honorable Judge Brendan Maher.
In November, 2015, Rockford Police were called to investigate an Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse to a victim in the 1400 block of 7th Avenue. The defendant, Thawahson Wah picked the victim up from school, brought her back to his apartment, wouldn’t let her leave and assaulted her.
Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections or probation followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release. The defendant will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Unlawful Restraint is a Class 4 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 1-3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections or probation followed by a year of Mandatory Supervised Release.
