The purpose of the Department of Regional Planning and Economic Development is to develop, monitor, refine and implement the Year 2030 Land Use Guide to promote and assist the economic development of the county. 

We offer applications for tax abatements for commercial and industrial job expansion and creation and we also administer a revolving loan fund.  We are currently upgrading our long range plan to promote balanced growth principles as well as economic prosperity in the county.

The department administers the Subdivision Ordinance which regulates land division and assigns addresses to property within the unincorporated areas of the county.

Zoning recommendations for the Zoning Board of Appeals and County Board are prepared to carry out the land use plan.
