Camping

The Winnebago County Forest Preserve District has four campgrounds.

• Hononegah, #80 Hononegah Road, Rockton, IL 61072
• Sugar River, 10127 Forest Preserve Road, Durand, IL 61024
• Pecatonica River, 7260 Judd Road, Pecatonica,  IL  61063
• Seward Bluffs, 16999 Comly Road, Seward,  IL  61077

Camping season will open Wednesday, April 15, 2009, weather permitting. Camping season will close Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

Camping is first-come, first-served. No reservations are accepted. Five additional youth camping areas may be reserved by special permit by contacting the District office.

Shower facilities are available only at Sugar River.

FEES - CAMPING RATES for 2010

Regular campgrounds         $10.00 per unit, per night

Senior Citizen /Disabled     $  8.00 per unit, per night            

Sugar River

Regular  campgrounds        $12.00 per unit, per night

Senior Citizen/Disabled      $10.00 per unit, per night

Primitive Campgrounds     $10.00 per unit, per night

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Electric Service Use                       $ 5.00 per unit, per night

Firewood (When Available)            $ 5.00/bundle

Dump Station Use (non-Camper)    $ 10.00
