Juvenile Probation
The Juvenile Probation Divsion is mandated to address juvenile delinquency in Winnebago County. Offenders under the age of 17 are referred to this department by law enforcement agencies and can remain under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court until the age of 21.
Juvenile Probation Programs:
- Field Unit - are responsible to provide supervision and case management for juvenile offenders assigned to probation.
- Intake Unit - deals with minors at the pre-court/pre-adjudicatory level.
This includes the Assessment Center which serves as a central
reception center for minors who have been arrested.
- Day Reporting Center (DRC) - a 4-month, court-ordered program for minors
on probation who require a more structured, prosocial intervention.
- Extended Monitoring Program (EMP) - provides 6-12 months of aftercare-community reintegration programming for successful graduates of the DRC.
