Anderson Japanese Garden - formal five acre Japanese garden.

 

Coronado Theater - opened in 1927, this former vaudeville/movie palace received an $18.5 million restoration in 1999-2001. It hosts over 150 arts and entertainment events each year.

 

Khlem Arboretum & Botanic Garden- 150 acres of magnificent trees and other plants, run by Northern Illinois Botanical Society and the Forest Preserve.

 

Magic Waters Water Park- one of the Midwest's largest, run by the Rockford Park District.

 

Midway Village & Museum Center- 19th Century village with over 25 authentic buildings, plus a museum of early Rockford History.

 

New American Theatre- (professional) and Starlight Theatre (community, summer outdoor theatre).

 

Riverfront Museum Park- home of six museums and cultural associations including Discovery Center, Rockford Art Museum, Rockford Dance Company, Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Storefront Cinema and WNIU/WNIJ Public Radio.

 

Rock Cut State Park- one of the largest parks in Illinois.

 

Rockford College-(4-year private), Rock Valley College (2-year community) and Northern Illinois University Extension.

 

The Rockford IceHogs minor league lockey team and the Ski Broncs, nationally ranked water ski team, Rock River Raptors minor league football team. Rockford Riverhawks, local minor league baseball team.
