Winnebago County has established a five person “Hotline” Committee in an effort to appropriately address incidents reported by individuals utilizing the Waste/Fraud/Abuse Hotline. The Hotline Committee includes representation from the Auditor, Purchasing, Human Resources and Finance Offices and meets on an as needed basis. The primary objective of the Hotline Committee is to decide what action to be taken, if any, to address each incident reported. If the nature of the incident involves a municipality other than Winnebago County, the Hotline Committee may refer the comment to the appropriate official.
As part of the Winnebago County Transparency Initiative the County Auditor will post a monthly incident report which includes the nature of the incident and a follow up.
