Celebrate Arbor Day with a walk or run through the woods!
Winnebago County is a proud sponsor of the first annual Arbor Dash. This is a non-competitive fun walk/run through Klehm's 155 acres of unique trees and glorious gardens at twilight. Part road, part trail, the Arbor Dash is open to walkers and runners of all ages and fitness levels, and everyone leaves with their very own tree!
Participants will receive a commemorative Arbor Dash t-shirt, entrance to Klehm's grounds for the day, a seedling to plant, and more. RESOURCES AVAILABLE IN WINNEBAGO COUNTY TO THOSE IMPACTED BY FLOOD
Some residents in our community have been impacted by significant flooding. As the County recovers from this flood, resources are available to assist in the clean-up process. To access these resources, Winnebago County residents impacted by the flood can contact the American Red Cross at 872-529-1784.
A Voluntary Buyout Program for Flood Prone Properties (Buyout Program) previously existed that would help residents in flood impacted areas relocate by purchasing their home. Currently, there is no active Buyout Program. While there was a Buyout Program in years past, that program ended. A Buyout Program may be started again if Federal and/or State funds become available.
The County will continue to look at all options for long term flood relief. If funding for a Buyout Program becomes available, the County will reach out to impacted residents at that time.
