Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a Loves Park man for possessing child pornography.

On July 30th, 2019, Illinois State Police conducted a search warrant at the home in the 5800 block of Birkenshaw Lane in Loves Park. Detectives found multiple images of lewd acts involving children on a computer seized from the residence. The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized against Bernard P. McQuade (DOB: 5/23/1971). The defendant was recently indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury on multiple counts of Child Pornography.

Child Pornography is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years to natural life of Mandatory Supervised Release.

McQuade is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment at 9am on October 1st, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Joseph McGraw in Courtroom A at the Winnebago County Justice Center.

The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
