Press Release-Tadelle McDaniel Jury Trial

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that Tadelle A. McDaniel (D.O.B. 4/23/1986) was found guilty of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse after a jury trial in front of the Honorable Judge John Lowry.

In May of 2017, Rockford Police began investigating allegations of sexual abuse made against the defendant, Tadelle McDaniel. A child, under the age of 13, reported that she had been touched inappropriately by the defendant. During the course of the investigation, another child under the age of 13 reported similar conduct with McDaniel. The abuse occurred multiple times between 2015 and 2017. The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and McDaniel was indicted by a Grand Jury.

 

            Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years to natural life of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

           

McDaniel is scheduled to be sentenced at 2:00pm on May 13th, 2019, by the Honorable Judge Lowry in Courtroom 314.
